BIRDWATCH IRELAND are looking for records of breeding Curlew this summer. We are looking for assistance from all those living in rural communities, farmers in particular, for a survey on breeding Curlew. Farmers with breeding Curlew on their land may be eligible for GLAS. When we know where the Curlew are, we will inform the Department of Agriculture, Food & the Marine, and the farms with Curlew on them will be prioritised for entry into the voluntary Agri-Environment Scheme, [GLAS]. If you think you know of a nesting pair [not a flock], please contact Sean Kelly on 085-1132780 or email and we will contact you. Closing date: July 1, 2015.
